The academy Situated in a unique setting in Brighouse, within an Industrial Mill sitting on the banks of the River Calder, Chef Benson-Smith wanted to be nostalgic in its location by representing the Love of Food in a site that represents the true history of Calderdale and the Industrial Revolution. Situated facing the river; once you have entered in what you may think as a rather industrial entrance, you will be warmly greeted into the vibrant, food and people focused kitchen, all uniquely designed by Chef Benson-Smith and his father in law John Robinson of Inspirations Huddersfield who is a renowned and passionate interior designer. As we speak, the designs are taking shape to create a truly personal and unique multipurpose training academy.
Chef Benson-Smith After setting up on his own after a valued career as a Michelin trained Chef, food developer and educator, Matthew decided that the next business stage was to have his own centre/academy that can incorporate all his business demands. Matthew says that the last two years have been exciting in terms of growth and development which has helped to form my future vision of launching a professional training academy for all. I have a large and important following and want to offer my audience what they are looking for whilst adapting for the changing needs and requirements for professional Chef training and development. The Academy will offer fun and exciting leisure courses, corporate events and will be used as a base for my apprentices and those that wish to gain formal and accredited qualifications, or businesses wanting professional development for their kitchen staff. It truly is a multi-functional base which allows me to bring together all my qualities and skills to cater for today’s evolving Hospitality and Catering industry.
